Join our board of trustees - community arts manager needed

About us 

We help people with a learning disability to find their voice and then use it. Storytelling is at the heart of what we do because stories make us human.

We are a day service and we are a community arts organisation and are proud to be both! We receive grants from the National Lottery and Arts Council for example which supports our day services to take on ambitious research and performance projects to make sure people can tell social stories from history as well as stories which are traditional ofr personal to themselves.

About you 

You will have experience of running a community arts group (in any of the creative arts) and want to share that expertise with us. You will be able to come to quarterly trustee meetings and help our every now and again (on average about an hour a week). You will be passionate about making sure everyone has access to creative opportunities and you know what it's like to find your creative voice and help other people find theirs. If you have experience with funding, touring, supporting performers etc, please get in touch.

About the role 

Our trustees have specifically identified that running and finding community arts as an area of skill and experience that we need more of. Our board is a friendly bunch and will do what they can to make you feel at home.

As well as governance, we would like the role to offer support to our community arts grant writers and director of fundraising.

No previous board experience is necessary and we will provide training for you on governance and trustee responsibilities.
