Volunteer to help children maintain and build relations with parents after separation.

We are a registered charity and run seven Child Contact Centres in Bridgwater, Chard, Frome, Taunton, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and Wincanton. Our Centres are accredited with the National Association of Child Contact Centres. We provide safe places where the children of separated parents can meet the parent they no longer live with.

We are looking for volunteers for all our Centres. The role means occasional Saturday mornings (10am to 12 noon) in Frome, Taunton or Wincanton; or Saturday afternoons (2pm to 4pm) in Bridgwater, Chard, Weston-super-Mare or Yeovil. This can be as frequently as you like. You will be helping parents and children who are living separately to keep in touch. We see the role of the centres as temporary, to help the parents and children maintain the relationship in a difficult time for the family while other forms of more permanent contact are sorted out. The role requires a DBS check.

Our priority is the interests of the child. Our focus is on ensuring our centres are safe for children. The role is not demanding, but volunteers play an essential role monitoring for safety of the participants. Volunteers are essential for our work. To ensure an appropriate level of oversight and care we need three volunteers for each of our sessions, in addition to the coordinator who is responsible for organising and running the sessions.
