Working directly with people living with or affected by MND you'll build great relationships through active listening, providing information + emotional support
You may carry out your volunteering face-to-face in people's home, through digital routes such as phonecalls and/or through support at our support meetings.
Examples of what the role involves include:
- Help people affected by MND make informed choices and access appropriate services / support
- Explaining to people living with and affected by MND how the MND Association can support them
- Recording information following our guidelines and local protocols
- Developing and maintaining relationships with our staff, other volunteers and external professionals
- Attending support and supervision meetings as well as development events
The role will suit you if you are:
- A good listener
- A good communicator
- Able to develop and maintain supportive relationships
- Non-judgemental and respectful of diverse lifestyles
- Curious to learn and develop
- Able to maintain clear boundaries and confidentiality
At the MND Association our vision is a world free from MND. We operate across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with two volunteer led branches operating in Somerset.
