Help shape the future of a values-driven care charity, bringing financial expertise to strengthen governance, strategy & community impact.

Take your financial expertise beyond the spreadsheet.

You already understand the numbers. Could you help interpret the numbers and help us understand what they mean?

Amica Care Trust is looking for a Finance Trustee to join our Board and bring financial expertise, insight and constructive challenge to our organisation. Our finances are a key enabler to our strategic aims which we hope you will help build and refine as we meet our objectives.

We already have an experienced Finance Director leading our financial function. This role is different. As a Trustee, you’ll provide independent oversight, ask the right questions and share your insight and perspective to the Board’s discussions and decisions.

Why become a Trustee?

Our Chair, Grahame, says: “Being a Trustee allows us to build strong friendships within a wider team, explore the workings of a multi-million-pound-a-year charity whilst developing skills as a valued Board member.”

Our Trustees are the directors of our charity and work alongside the Executive Team, helping to set our strategic direction and culture. We currently have 4 successful care homes across the South West, with another opening soon and seek to improve and grow our offer within our charitable aims.

We’re looking for someone with senior-level finance experience who can look beyond the figures, interpret financial information and help the Board understand the financial implications of the decisions we make.

You might be a Finance Director, Financial Controller, qualified accountant or have equivalent senior finance experience.

Previous Trustee or charity experience isn’t essential. What matters is the experience, perspective and curiosity you bring.

As Grahame says: “We are looking for people with life and/or work experiences that can add value to our wonderful team. All we ask is that you have time to commit and empathy, energy and passion to support our work.”

The Board meets six times a year (in person/ remote) with opportunities to contribute to relevant committees including Finance & Audit.

Could you bring your financial expertise to a Board where the numbers ultimately relate to our residents and teams?
