Message from the Chair:
Amica Care Trust is a values-based provider of care in the South West. You will be joining an energetic senior team who have aspirations to support more residents using excellent staff, augmented by technology, to improve lives. Our Board is a supporter of the senior team, while also holding them to account for the performance, sustainability and governance of the Trust in line with the behaviours set out in the Charity Governance Code. As a Trustee, you will bring valuable accountancy and financial expertise to help ensure the Board remains effective, financially informed and focused on delivering long-term benefit for the people and communities we support.
Being a Trustee at Amica Care:
As a trustee, you will help shape the strategic direction of Amica Care, provide constructive challenge and support to our senior team, and ensure strong, values-led governance. You will contribute to board and committee discussions, review key decisions, and maintain a visible link with our services through occasional home visits. In return, you will gain valuable board-level experience, access to training and mentoring, and the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Most importantly, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of care and enriching the lives of older people across our communities.
We are looking for:
We want a Board that better reflects the communities we serve. We especially welcome interest from people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including first-time trustees. For this Trustee role, Amica’s planned growth would particularly benefit from someone with accountancy or senior finance experience who can strengthen financial oversight, audit and risk assurance, and strategic decision-making within a charity governance setting.
