Do you like reading and enjoy the idea of bringing people together over short stories and poems? Then this could be the opportunity for you!
The Reader Organisation is a national charity who take Shared Reading into all sorts of community settings. We are currently continuining to develop our programme across Somerset for people who are living with dementia and we are looking to train people who would like to become Reader Leaders. The training is online, flexible and completely free of charge. You would then go on to volunteer for us, running a weekly reading session in a dementia day-care setting. The weekly sessions are usually between 1 and 2 hrs and you will receive ongoing support from our Volunteer Team.
