Summary

Play a vital role in the care of rescue dogs.

Detailed description

Aim of volunteering role: To provide help to staff with dog walking, enrichment & cleaning. Experience and confidence around dogs is essential

 

Tasks:

· Assisting the Kennel team with the morning/afternoon routines

· Tasks may include: Cleaning inside and outside kennels, dog walking and enriching each dogs experience through exercise and handling

· To spend time with nominated animals, providing

socialisation.

· To follow all instruction and training given on health & safety,

including PPE and manual handling

 

Time commitment: 9.00-12pm OR 1pm - 3pm Monday/Tuesday/Saturday/Sunday slots available weekly.

 

Where: Happy Landings Animal Rescue, Pye Hill, Pylle, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 6TG.

 

Transport needed: Due to the location of the centre, volunteers need a means of transport, as there are no close public transport links.

 

What you need to have:

· This role has a minimum age of 18

· Interest in the animal charity work of Happy Landings Animal

Rescue

· A love of animals!

· Experience of owning or looking after cats, rabbits or guinea

pigs

· A good level of mobility (including bending and lifting)

· Flexibility and the ability to follow instruction
