Summary

We are looking for volunteers to support us in making Freedom-Fest the best festival for people with learning differences, and the first in Somerset!

Detailed description

able2achieve support adults with learning disabilities, mental health, and other associated disabilities. We support individuals in a variety of different ways from everyday living skills to attending social events. Our mission statement is “to enable personal achievement and progression by developing essential skills and self-confidence through learning, living and working”.


We are looking for responsible and reliable people with excellent people skills to volunteer during our accessible festival. This festival is open to the disability community and their carers. As we work with vulnerable adults, an advanced DBS check is required. We welcome diversity, and will make reasonable adjustments where possible. 

 

Volunteers are expected to be available for 4-8 hours during the festival. Depending on your experience and requirements, duties will be scheduled during the day. 

 

These duties include;

Gates Team: The Gates Teams are the first point of contact for all festival-goers on arrival – it’s up to us to give them a warm welcome and set a positive tone for their day! Includes: Welcome Team, Ticket Scanning, Wristbanding, Car Park Stewarding, Queue Stewarding


Festival Stewarding: Our Festival Stewarding Team are the eyes and ears of the festival, responsible for maintaining the best experience for festival-goers, with a major focus on friendliness and helpfulness. Includes: Arena Stewarding, Cloakroom & Information Point, Monitoring activities

 

Hygiene Team: The Hygiene Team will be responsible in monitoring the safety and cleanliness of the site. Cleaning touch points, collecting littler and making sure that as much as possible is recycled. Includes: Site recycling, Cloakroom cleaning, Hygiene site maintenance

 

Whilst these role profiles are designed to give you a good idea of what it will be like volunteering with us on site, due to the ever changing nature of the festival, our volunteers are expected to be flexible and therefore roles are subject to change or adaptation. 

 

You will be given an access pass to the event and will be free to enjoy yourself off shift. Refreshments and food will be provided. Parking is included. Lift sharing and public transport is encouraged for reasons of sustainability. Reasonable travel costs may be refunded if agreed in advance.
