Summary

Providing transport to and from essential appointments for residents of Chard and the surrounding villages.

Detailed description

Do you enjoy driving and do you want to help our community?

Here at the Chard Community Car Scheme you can do both!

Drivers will need to use their own cars. In most cases this won't impact your insurance policy, but we ask all drivers to contact their providers and let them know. We reimburse reasonable expenses.

The trips can vary and how many hours you commit to is really up to you.

People in rural communities often struggle to get out and about due to lack of transport, sometimes having to cancel essential appointments simply because they can't get there.

That's why we set the scheme up. We want to keep Chard connected.

About The HUB South Chard

We work in Chard and the surrounding villages to provide a variety of support to our local community. Parenting classes, support groups, community transport, oh... and coffee, we like coffee! Nothing like a friendly face, a good chat and a decent coffee!
We like to meet people where they are at and find out how we can help, so we are always up to something new.
