Summary
Our volunteers sew reusable sanitary pads and we distribute them to refugees and vulnerable people around the world. We provide the instructions and templates.Detailed description
Our volunteers make easy-to-sew reusable sanitary pads for refugees and vulnerable people. Since our launch in August 2020, we have sent 100,000 pads to Lebanon, Greece, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Pakistan, Turkey, the US and here in the UK, taking thousands of people out of period poverty. We provide the pattern and instructions and can supply fabric, on request. This is a kind, supportive community of people from all over the UK and also in the US, Canada, Austria, Denmark, France, Italy and Germany, all working to support the most vulnerable. It is a no-commitment project. Volunteers make as many or as few as they want, when they want. Some come and go, according to their other commitments and a number have health conditions that mean they dip in and out when they are well enough. Every contribution is welcome. Every kit of eight pads takes someone out of period poverty for up to five years. We welcome anyone with a sewing machine and some spare time: individuals, groups, schools, Duke of Edinburgh students, crafters, for example.
