SoBS is looking for Volunteers to set up and run peer to peer support groups in Somerset, providing support to anyone bereaved or impacted by suicide.

We need your help. Have you been bereaved or impacted by suicide loss for at least 2 years and are you over 18? If so, and you would like to put your listening skills and empathic nature to very much appreciated and highly valued use, we would love to hear from you.

Group Facilitators run our peer to peer support groups which meet monthly. The group sessions normally take up 3 hours of your time each month, then email and phone duties would take up a further few hours across the month. Each group has a minimum of three Facilitators so that these tasks can be shared equitably.

SoBS takes the care of our volunteers very seriously and offers training and support along every step of the way.

The groups provide invaluable support for our Survivors and our Volunteers have a hugely positive impact on so many people's lives, empowering them to move forward with hope after the terrible tragedy of losing someone to suicide.
