We are a faith community and our vision at St Mary’s is to serve the community and help people discover life in all its fullness. Our church building is a beautiful landmark site, and the oldest ...
SummaryWe are looking for a cafe Supervisor/Manager to work alongside another hands-on cafe supervisor. So all the work won't be on you!
We have received a Government COVID Recovery Grant of £20,900 which has enabled us to create a beautiful café area in St Mary's Church in the heart of the town. This project is funded by the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage. The Culture Recovery Fund is being delivered by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England, using funds provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
We can now serve foods and drinks safely from within the new church café. We aim to serve fishfinger butties, bacon rolls and sausage sandwiches just to name a few delicious options. We have a wonderful, easy to use coffee machine and can offer takeaway beverages.
We are currently open Thursdays but with the help of more volunteers for this role, or for cafe volunteers we will be able to open Saturdays and hopefully in the near future, Fridays as well. We are just rolling out a ‘Pay it Forwards’ scheme so that we can help people who are perhaps homeless or who are having a bad week. We are also opening up for the Food Festival, the Quayside Festival, and soon we hope to welcome back dementia groups, the elderly, young mums and tots, those with a disability and many others we work with.
We have all sorts of jobs available - cooking, serving, dishwashing, cleaning, serving drinks, cashier or a mixture, whatever you feel you would like to do.
We would love to hear from you if you are interested and would like to volunteer with us.
We can offer Food Safety and Food Allergens training.
