Summary

Our reception volunteers help operate the telephone system, receiving and transferring calls as well as welcoming patients and visitors.

Detailed description

Our reception volunteers help operate the telephone system, receiving and transferring calls as well as welcoming patients and visitors and processing retail sales.

Based at our Yeovil hospice site, you will be part of our family of friendly receptionist volunteers, offering your support either weekly or fortnightly. Your support is needed at the following times:

  • Weekdays (morning or afternoons) 
  • Fortnightly or Weekly


Available shifts

Wednesday     08:30-12:30 & 12:30-04:30

Friday            08:30-12:30


About you

You are able to empathise with and put patients and visitors at ease, as well as being confident at operating our telephone system and till for retail sales.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Demonstrates a high standard of communication and organisational skills.
  • Is able to provide a warm welcome and excellent customer service.
  • Is comfortable using IT equipment.
  • Has the ability to stay calm and resolve situations efficiently.
