Volunteer Ambassador

We’re on a mission to help change lives and build healthy, resilient communities in Somerset.

We do this by supporting and championing voluntary and community organisations and providing a range of services, training and advice. We also believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive and so we work with local partners to provide volunteering opportunities for all. 

Pivotal to our success in this mission is a team of Volunteer Ambassadors (VAs) who can share their ideas and experiences to contribute to a coproduced ‘Vision for Volunteering’.

By becoming a VA, you’ll join a friendly group of volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds who are passionate about volunteering and its impact on communities. Working together, you will help us shape our message to a wide range of stakeholders from the public, private and community sectors.

As a VA, you will have the opportunity to:

• Use your personal experiences to help us shape the Vision for Volunteering in Somerset.
• Help us to create best practice and frameworks for the charities and groups we work with.
• Raise awareness by sharing your experience of volunteering and promoting its benefits.

The VA group will meet quarterly (online or in person) and you may be asked to follow up on any actions agreed during the meeting. VAs will be supported by and maintain regular communication with their named contact at Spark Somerset. Travel expenses will be covered and training will be provided.
