It's an exciting time to join Spark Somerset. We're a dynamic, growing team with ambitious plans for the future. This is a great opportunity to put your financial skills and experience to use, learn about the management and strategy side of charities, work with new and interesting people, and enhance your CV.
You would be required to attend regular board meetings (currently quarterly and remote), and be available to the Chief Executive or Finance Manager on an ad-hoc basis.
As an infrastructure charity, we support the voluntary sector across Somerset, run the Volunteer Service (and this website), promote community health and wellbeing and have a key representative role as 'Voice of the Sector'. By joining us, you'll play a part in helping support a huge range of groups and charities across the county.
We've also been heavily involved in supporting the voluntary sector to respond to, and recover from the impacts of Covid-19. During the first lockdown, we recruited over 1,400 'Corona Helper' volunteers. Now we're looking for volunteers to support local vaccinations, and hundreds of people have signed up so far. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference at this very challenging time!
