Join our Board of Trustees

We’re on a mission to help change lives and build healthy, resilient communities in Somerset.  

We do this by supporting and championing voluntary and community organisations and providing a range of services, training and advice. We also believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive and so we work with local partners to provide volunteering opportunities for all.  

Pivotal to our success in this mission is our exceptional Board of Trustees, and we are looking for someone who can join us and help lead our charity as we support and empower voluntary sector organisations to make an even bigger impact.

Working as part of our Board team to assist the Chair, other trustees and the Chief Executive, you will ensure that the Board of Trustees fulfils its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience of HR and digital skills.

It's a flexible, hybrid role but we'd like you to be able to commit to at least five days per year for quarterly Board meetings (around 2.5 hours) and an annual team away day, as well as offer advice and guidance on an ad-hoc basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our values, is a true leader, and loves to think ahead. Whilst previous experience of being a trustee is helpful, it’s not essential – if you understand the value of the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector and are looking for your next big challenge, we would love to hear from you.
