Help unpaid carers to chat to each other and find support and information as part of a friendly cafe session.
The Carers Group gives unpaid carers of friends and family members the opportunity to take a much needed break, socialise with other carers, share experiences, laugh, cry and find out how to access local information, resources, and other sources of support.
We need a volunteer to lead the group alongside the volunteers at the cafe. Duties would include
- Advertising and spreading the word
- Welcoming Carers as they arrive
- Enabling Carers to access group peer support through leading the group conversation
- Listening to carers and signposting where needed (information provided)
- Booking speakers (support and information provided)
- Monthly phone call to each group member
- Working within guidelines and policy
- Undertaking a small amount of online training and face to face occasional meetings
