Summary

Help provide social and emotional support in a friendly and informal way to Carers at their monthly meeting in Martock

Detailed description

The Carers Group gives people who look after friends and family members the opportunity to take a much needed break, socialise with other carers, share experiences, laugh, cry and find out how to access local information, resources, and other sources of support.

We need a volunteer to work with the group leader with support from Spark and other volunteers. Key roles include

  • Welcoming Carers as they arrive, reducing any first time nerves.
  • Supporting the meeting.
  • Enabling Carers to speak to each other and ask for ideas.
  • Undertaking initial online training and face to face occasional meetings
  • Working with existing team members

The Martock Carers Group runs at Martock Christian Fellowship Church Rooms Church St, Martock TA12 6JN on the first Thursday of the month at 10:30 for 1.5 hours. It is fully accessible. You would be part of the existing team helping the leader.
