Summary

Be part of the team supporting carers and the people they look after at this vibrant heart of the town area.

Detailed description

The Carers Group gives unpaid carers of friends and family members the opportunity to take a much needed break, socialise with other carers, share experiences, laugh, cry and find out how to access local information, resources, and other sources of support.

We need a volunteer to take on the leadership of the group with support from Spark and other volunteers. Key roles include

  • Welcoming Carers as they arrive and leading the group in a way agreed by the carers, Spark, The Hub and yourself.
  • Enabling Carers to access group peer support
  • Working with Spark support to organise speakers and sharing information emailed to you.
  • Undertaking a small amount of online training and face to face occasional meetings

The Bridgwater group are planning to meet alongside the memory cafe on Tuesday afternoon, this may be subject to change as organisation commences. Carers can meet whilst the people they care for enjoy an enriching session at the memory cafe.
