As a Director, you’ll help guide the organisation and support our mission to deliver local, sustainable, community-owned renewable energy.
What does the role involve?
• Helping set the strategy and direction of the society.
• Attending board meetings and contributing to decision-making.
• Ensuring good governance, financial oversight, and compliance.
• Promoting the aims of the society in the community.
• Supporting community engagement and member participation.
Commitment: A few hours per month. Training and support provided.
Expenses: This is an unpaid role; reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.
Specialist Roles (optional):
Chair of the Board Leads the board, chairs meetings, and represents the society publicly.
Company Secretary Oversees records, compliance, and governance processes.
Treasurer Provides financial leadership, budgets, and reporting.
Technical Specialist Advises on renewable energy technology and projects.
Customer Liaison Manages relationships with host sites (e.g. schools, community buildings).
Marketing & Promotion Raises awareness through communications and outreach.
