We want volunteers to help with species recording and population monitoring. This enables us to assess the effectiveness of our habitat management work.

Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park is a beautiful 42 hectare site comprising of meadows, ponds, rhynes and young woodland copses. It's a fantastic place to spot wildlife, particularly birds and insects. There are lots of opportunities to make improvements on site for both people and wildlife.

We want volunteers to help with species recording and population monitoring. This enables us to assess the effectiveness of our habitat management work. The wildlife records will also feed into Somerset Environmental Records Centre for the national database on wildlife populations.

You'll learn how to identify species and carry out surveys, working as part of a wider team.

You can choose when you volunteer, and how many hours you do.

Whilst previous experience of wildlife surveying is useful, it is not essential, as training will be provided. You do need to be able to carry out surveys on uneven terrain in various weather conditions throughout the year.
