Summary
This role supports the delivery of the Land Management Skills Scheme. The Scheme works with unemployed young people and adults to teach them rural skills.Detailed description
The Quantock Hills National Landscape is rich in historic and cultural heritage. It has a high concentration of bronze and iron age features and offers lots of opportunities to immerse yourself in nature with a wide variety of landscapes to explore. It offers a feeling of tranquillity while also allowing some excellent horse riding or mountain biking.
This Landscape Management Skills Scheme aims to teach the rural skills that enhance this landscape to unemployed adults and young people who are not in employment, education or training.
This role directly supports the delivery of the Land Management Skills Scheme. It is hoped that taking part in the Scheme will lead onto other training or employment opportunities for the people involved. Having volunteers will enable us to provide a richer and more supportive experience to the participants.
The scheme will run in blocks of 6 week courses on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Volunteers are needed 1 day a week from 10 am to 3.30pm. The courses will run for about 40 weeks of the year but you do not need to commit to the entire year.
