About the Role
Do you love music and enjoy bringing people together? As a Volunteer Musician with SeeAbility, you will use the power of music to create fun, engaging and inclusive experiences for people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss. Whether you sing, play an instrument, create playlists, or simply share a passion for music, you will help make a real difference. If you can volunteer once a week or once a month we would love to hear from you.
The Difference You Will Make
Music can boost confidence, improve wellbeing, spark memories and bring joy. By volunteering your time, you will help people express themselves, connect with others, learn new skills and enjoy meaningful experiences that enrich their lives.
What You Will Do
• Support or lead enjoyable music sessions.
• Encourage people to sing, play instruments, move to music or simply enjoy listening.
• Help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Adapt activities to suit different abilities and interests.
• Build positive relationships with the people we support.
• Support staff with setting up and tidying away equipment where needed.
What We Are Looking For
• A passion for music and sharing it with others.
• Enthusiasm, patience and a positive attitude.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Reliability and a willingness to learn.
• No formal music qualifications are required – just a desire to make a difference.
Requirements
To help keep everyone safe, all volunteers will be required to:
• Complete a DBS check (paid for by SeeAbility where applicable).
• Provide two references.
• Complete a small number of online training modules, including safeguarding and health and safety.
