Visit a gentleman with Down's syndrome once every two months. Share a cup of tea, play a game, or just sit peacefully to provide some company.

We have a gentleman with Down's syndrome in his 60’s who would benefit from someone to pop in to check in and say hello just once every two months. You might like to look at pictures together, play some games, or just sit peacefully for a while.

His parents wanted to know that someone would be able to check in on him when they had passed away. It doesn't have to be for long, even just an hour would show that someone cares.

He has very limited communication and is largely non verbal. He communicates instead with gestures, body language, facial expressions, and through leading you to what he wants. Some experience with learning disability would be helpful but not essential as long as you are patient and understanding.

We will pay your expenses to get to his home, as well as costs incurred on the visit, and a little extra so you can get him a birthday or Christmas gift. We will also provide continuing support whenever needed.

This is an amazing opportunity to volunteer to make a difference to a person with a learning disability, as well as honouring his parents' wishes that someone would look in on him when they had passed.
