Tea and Toasties is an after school drop in for 12 years plus and we're looking for volunteers to support the group.
Volunteer with Tea and Toasties
Help create a welcoming space for young people in Frome
Tea and Toasties is a relaxed and friendly after-school drop-in for young people aged 12 and over. It provides a safe, inclusive space where young people can unwind after school, spend time with friends, play games, enjoy a hot drink and snack, and access support from our youth worker if they need it.
We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Tea and Toasties team and help make these sessions a warm and welcoming place for everyone who attends.
We run weekly sessions at the Good Heart Café in central Frome on Tuesdays from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and at the Key Centre on Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm. Sessions take place during term time only.
What will volunteers do?
As a Tea and Toasties volunteer, you might:
- Help set up the space before young people arrive
- Prepare and serve drinks and snacks, including our popular cheese toasties and hot chocolate
- Chat with and encourage young people in a friendly, supportive way
- Join in with games and activities
- Help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
- Assist with tidying up at the end of the session
What commitment is involved?
We're building a team of volunteers who can share the sessions on a rota basis, so there's no expectation to attend every week. We'll work with you to agree a volunteering pattern that fits around your availability.
What support will I receive?
You won't be expected to know everything from day one. Full support and training will be provided, and you'll always be volunteering alongside experienced staff members.

By giving just a couple of hours of your time, you'll help provide a space where young people feel welcome, connected and supported. Many of the young people who attend tell us how much the service means to them.
