Summary

We need someone to help manage our volunteers and to help co-ordinate our activities.

Detailed description

We have expanded our activities significantly in the past few months, and now have a paid fundraiser supporting us. We need more help with co-ordinating our activities and making sure we have enough volunteers to make them happen.

This would be a great opportunity for someone with organisational and people skills to get experience of working with a not-for-profit that is at a key moment in its development; we are readying ourselves to be able to take on a building to turn it into a vibrant community hub.

The role is very flexible and can be shaped around your commitments.

About OpenDoorsSomerset

Open Doors is the name Crewkerne Community Kitchen (CCK) is hoping to give to a new community centre in the town centre; we want to create a warm welcoming inclusive space running wellbeing activities, arts & crafts and more! The fantastic volunteers that make up CCK distribute surplus supermarket food three times a week, saving more than 1.5 tonnes going to landfill. We also support a community cooking group Chop & Chat, that prepares a delicious 2-course meal every Friday at the Speedwell Hall, Abbey St. We have launched a Chat Cafe with support from the Open Mental Health Network, the NHS, and Bilby's cafe, as a first step to creating a community hub.
