Volunteer Role Information
Role: IT Technician/Engineer
Project: Core
Supervisor: Jon Thackeray – MiS manager to be assigned
Location: Working from home/Mind Offices – Taunton Base
Hours required: As available
Main Purpose of role: Assist with IT provision in Mind in Somerset
Key Tasks: User support, training
Documentation, including Policies and Procedures
IT Governance including Cyber Security
Starters/leavers, including pc update/refurbishment and configuration
Network management including WANS< LANS, and WiFi
Project work e.g. expansion, upgrades, extensions etc.
IT Strategy formulation
3rd Party Supplier liaison and management
Responsibilities to Staff and Volunteers: Provide effective IT support
Person Specification
Essential: Demonstrable existing IT knowledge/experience beyond user level
Understanding of the need for record keeping
Analytic abilities
Ability to clearly support and communicate complex concepts to a range of staff/volunteers
Willingness to learn (including independently) to extend their knowledge
Desirable: An interest in governance and standards
Mathematics/statistics skills at higher education level
