About Make the Sunshine CiC

Make the Sunshine specialises in running creative workshops and performances to reduce improve well-being, increase self-confidence and build human connection, reduce social isolation through imaginative creative experiences.

We believe engagement in creative practice can change lives, build relationships and create change. We excel at creating professional, high quality arts experiences and projects that bring organisations and communities together.

Make the Sunshine provides creative opportunities connecting schools and wider communities (parents, artists and performers, local residents, businesses as well as care homes and older groups) in Shepton Mallet and across Mendip.

Our programmes include:

Plays in the Playground – imaginative pop-up performances and workshops in community spaces and playgrounds;

Rosie’s Adventure: a production written and created by 900 children across Shepton Mallet;

All the World’s our Playground: a theatre festival programmed by young people attended by 1000 people including 10 different productions plus street theatre

The Happiness Hunt: Connecting 6 Primary Schools and 6 care homes across Mendip with creative exchanges reducing social isolation

Window Wanderland Shepton Mallet: A festival of illuminated windows and buildings across the town including The Anglo lit up with key Shepton Mallet figures through intergenerational workshops with Field House Care Home and St Paul’s Junior School
