Detailed description

We are currently looking for a volunteer who is able to support our amazing community officers by taking on some of their daily office based responsibilities. This would include important administrative tasks like speaking to members on the phone, updating transport details, taking menus choices for lunch clubs, making wellbeing checks and performing building checks. The role would require some filing, data processing and editing so a familiarity with microsoft Word would be useful, but not essential. We would provide induction, DBS checks and training. The post would require a minimum of four hours a week to be taken over two days. We can offer office based admin experience, a good volunteer training programme, opportunities to volunteer in other capacities, free DBS checks. You would also be a vital part of a thriving and important service working with older people and enabling them to lead full and valuable lives whilst remaining independent. We would need this support to be for a minimum of two hours a day - preferably on two days a week

About MHa, Wincanton Live at Home Scheme

At Wincanton Live at Home scheme, we want to enable older people to stay living independently in their own homes for as long as possible, with the best possible quality of life.

Through befriending, lunch clubs, assisted shopping, activity and friendship sessions, outings, escorts to appointments and much more, MHA's Live at Home schemes across the UK help to tackle loneliness and isolation in people over 55 – helping them to lead fulfilled lives and remain as active members in their local communities.

The scheme's activities programme is designed and led by its members and volunteers to ensure that we are providing the practical and social support which those we serve need.
