Summary

Could your expertise and skills help support the Arts Centre's vision and ensure a secure future?

Detailed description

The Ilminster Arts Centre's mission is to bring amazing art, live music and creative workshops to the South West. Could your expertise and skills help support our vision and ensure a secure future?

Ilminster Arts Centre is seeking to appoint several new trustees/directors. The role offers the opportunity to use your expertise and skills to support the Arts Centre in its management and ensure a secure future. We are looking for people from a range of backgrounds who have a genuine interest in the Arts Centre and its’ contribution to the Arts in the South West.

The current trustees each take an interest and responsibility for a specific aspect of the Arts Centre. If you have a background or experience in any of the following areas, we would be particularly interested in hearing from you:

  • Property management
  • Accounting & Finance
  • HR
  • Business development
  • Fundraising
  • Youth engagement
  • Grant writing

Most importantly, however, we are looking for people who are passionate about the benefits culture and the arts can bring to the community.

We aim to ensure that we work with high levels of accountability, inclusivity and sustainability. We actively encourage democracy and accessibility to decision-making and are keen to investigate more effective ways of doing this. We also wish to promote a clear and shared vision of the Centre's aims and values.

Trustee meetings are once a month, with occasional additional meetings as required.

We are looking for committed individuals with good communication and willingness to get stuck into the day-to-day running of the Arts Centre. Prior experience as a trustee is not essential – we are more interested in your energy and drive than specific qualifications.

As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction. You will also help us achieve our vision of an imaginative, adventurous and valued programme of arts and entertainment activities that meets the needs, and develops the tastes and expectations of, local people and visitors to the county.

Please apply through Sparks with a brief introduction and your CV in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the Arts Centre and attend an informal interview.
