Summary
We are looking for people to be involved with our befriending service This may be a one to one befriending role or as a zoom group.Detailed description
Our volunteers may support people with an ABI to be involved with others and activities in their community as well as having a one to one befriending relationship. You will have training and ongoing support yourself.
Previous clients have gone on to join community groups, volunteer with us or other organisations, and to develop confidence so as to be more independent in their day to lives. There is no personal care involved.
Volunteers have found working with Headway Somerset has benefited them in their career development or used skills gained in work as they retire as well as being an enjoyable experience in itself.

What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costs🤝 Extra supportAbout Headway Somerset
We provide services and support across Somerset to adults with an acquired brain injury and their families. Our services start at the point an individual is in hospital through our hospital liaison service which provides critical support to individuals and more often to partners and families. Rehabilitation is provided by trained staff and a band of committed volunteers through four centres and can also be delivered through one –to-one outreach. We also have volunteering opportunities for befriending.
