Summary

Do you enjoy time in a coffee shop with friends? So do our clients and with your support they can look forward to an enjoyable social occasion each fortnight.

Detailed description

You will be part of a team, including one of our project workers, welcoming people to the cafe, supporting them to choose and pay for drinks and food, and encouraging them to take part in conversations.

Your help means that people with an acquired brain injury can look forward to a regular outing, breaking their isolation and giving them the confidence to get back to doing the ordinary things in life.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at Coffee#1.

You will have training, support and your expenses will be paid.

Above all, we hope that you will have an enjoyable time with others in a coffee shop near you!

About Headway Somerset

We provide services and support across Somerset to adults with an acquired brain injury and their families. Our services start at the point an individual is in hospital through our hospital liaison service which provides critical support to individuals and more often to partners and families. Rehabilitation is provided by trained staff and a band of committed volunteers through four centres and can also be delivered through one –to-one outreach. We also have volunteering opportunities for befriending.
