Steam Coast Trail Maintenance Volunteer

Do you want to help: - promote cycling and reduce local car-use? - boost West Somerset's economy? - promote the local area's natural beauty? The Steam Coast Trail is an ongoing project to create a network of breath-taking multi-use paths in West Somerset. Phase One of the trail - which opened in December 2016 - runs from Dunster to Blue Anchor and we are soon to launch Phase Two, linking Old Cleve (Dragon's Cross) to Washford (Cobblers Steps). Weaving walkers, cyclists, runners and wheelchair users through beautiful countryside, the Steam Coast Trail is a huge asset to the local community and promotes road safety, sustainable transport, health and wellbeing and accessibility whilst also boosting West Somerset's economy from increasing tourism. Cleaning & tidying,Managing people,Organising,Outdoor work,Talking to others "The Friends of the Steam Coast Trail are looking to recruit a group of volunteers who would be willing to assist with the maintenance of the Trail on both a regular and an ad-hoc basis. This could include light gardening, monitoring usage, clearing shingle and general cosmetic upkeep. We would be grateful for as little or as much time as you can give." "Expenses will be paid. Insurance is provided. Volunteers need to have their own mobile phone. Disabled access is available. Suitable for people with restricted mobility. Suitable for people with visual impairment."
