We are looking for volunteers to help with driving, this is a vital service that will help support the work we do with those who have experienced homelessness.

VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION
Volunteer Driver
Hours: Three to four per week
Department: Connect Centre
Location: Portway, Wells BA5 2BE
Reports to:
Purpose:
Helping with transporting to appointments or activities as part of each individual's support plan. Liaising with each service users support worker to see how best to fulfil.
Essential Characteristics:
- Clean driving license with business license to be able to transport service users
- The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Ability to work with diversity
- Understand the necessity for confidentiality
- Motivated and enthusiastic
- Kind, patient, tolerant and approachable
- Ability to loan work after a period of induction and following necessary training
- Liaise with community connect team
Key Responsibilities:
To participate in essential training and development.
Relay any concerns, updates and progress to the appropriate Connect case worker
Maintain record keeping in line with GDPR requirements
Co-ordinate and organise appointments and bookings alongside staff and transport as necessary
Contribute to events and projects.
Maintain confidentiality.
Volunteer Expectations:
· Core Competencies Training (Boundaries, safeguarding, GDPR, Risk assessments and reading and understanding polices)
· Writing up notes of time spent with SU
· DBS if required
· Supervision every 2 months
· Review every 6 months

About Connect Community Church
A church based community centre in the heart of Wells. We run a day centre for those needing support especially around rough sleeping and run Somerset East's rough sleeper hostel.
We run several drop in sessions during the week, offering signposting to other agencies and have a Housing First service for the most vulnerable with complex needs.
