Interested in wildlife and conservation? The East Somerset Railway has a brand new opportunity - Volunteer Lineside Conservation Officer.
The ESR would like to start addressing environmental issues and has created a volunteer role to advise the Board of Trustees and influence our general cohort of staff and volunteers. We are looking for someone with an interest and experience in environmental/conservation/wildlife issues to implement best practice regarding the ESR's commitment to addressing 'net zero' issues.
Duties will include producing leaflets for visitors regarding wildlife, flora and fauna; developing a lineside development plan; creating links with local wildlife groups; advising ESR Board of Trustees on measures implemented in order to move towards 'net zero'.

As well as hands-on, practical work maintaining our railway line and our steam locomotive and Signal Box restoration projects, we require public facing roles during the summer season such as Guards, Travelling Ticket Inspectors, Shop and Ticket Office staff.
