Summary

The East Somerset Railway are looking for volunteers who enjoy practical work to help them restore an original GWR footbridge.

Detailed description

The East Somerset Railway has acquired the Victorian GWR footbridge which was originally situated at St Erth Station, near St Ives in Cornwall. This will be an exciting new attraction for visitors to the heritage railway based at Cranmore and work is underway to restore it and place it in position as a walkway over the tracks. Carpenters, metal fabricators and painters are needed for this work and the ESR would love to hear from practical people who would like to be involved in restoring this iconic footbridge, built in 1894.

Timings for volunteering are flexible so do get in touch if you enjoy practical volunteering work as part of a team of enthusiastic people!
