Summary
Join our team in helping to raise much-needed funds for Dorothy House to enable us to provide compassionate care for our patients and their families.
Detailed description
You will be arranging bucket collections at sites in the community (supermarkets etc). This will involve booking the collection with the venue, coordinating volunteers to do the event and arranging to get all the resources to the venue and back again.
This role will involve coming into Winsley and volunteering out in the community. We are looking for someone to give half a day a week either on Mondays am, Tuesdays pm or Fridays am.
Why we want you
We work with amazing organisations and individual supporters to organise cash collections across our communities. We need help to organise where our collections are taking place, communicate that information out to our amazing volunteers and be the main point of contact to make sure the collections run smoothly. You will be building relationships, empowering volunteers, and helping Dorothy House grow deeper roots in every corner of our community
through meaningful engagement.
What you will be doing
- Help to coordinate collection efforts across the community, manage relationships with local businesses, and recruit amazing volunteers to join our collector team.
- Coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups of collection buckets with the support of our wider team
- Help to find new places to host collection buckets, like shops, cafés, community venues, local businesses
- Thank our partners and supporters with real warmth and appreciation
- Act as a vital link between Dorothy House and the community, helping to
- spread the word about other vital work that is going on

Volunteers need to be over 18 years old and will be expected to use their own transport and should have access to a car.

We provide compassionate care and support for people in our community with a life-limiting illness. Dorothy House focuses on quality of life, so patients can live well and die well.
We give care and support to patients and their families in Bath and north east Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset, whenever they need it; at home, in the hospice, or at one of our outreach centres. We respect the uniqueness of each patient and their family, and empower them to choose the type of care they receive.
