Trustees wanted – help shape the future of Conquest Centre
Could you bring your experience, skills and perspective to the Board of a very special local charity?
Conquest Centre is looking for two new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of our unique charity.
Based at Conquest Farm in Norton Fitzwarren, near Taunton, Conquest has been supporting children, young people and adults since 1965. Today, around 200 sessions take place every week, using animals, nature, connection and wellbeing to provide therapeutic and supportive services for people with a wide range of needs.
About the role
We are particularly interested in people with previous Trustee and/or governance experience, although you do not need to have worked in the charity sector.
We are looking for people who can:
- Think strategically while also being willing to look at the detail when needed
- Ask questions and provide constructive challenge
- Listen to different perspectives and work collaboratively
- Bring good judgement and an objective approach
- Understand the responsibilities of being a Trustee
- Share our commitment to Conquest and the people we support
- Take an active interest in the success of the charity
We are particularly interested in additional experience in areas such as governance, finance, legal matters, HR, fundraising, business, property and land, marketing and communications, health and social care, disability, SEND, safeguarding or organisational development – but this is not an exhaustive list.
