Role Description


ROLE TITLE: Donations Coordinator Volunteer

 

ROLE LOCATION:    Compass Wellbeing, Unit 7 Belvedere Trading Estate, Taunton, TA1 1BH

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Centre Manager

 

Objective

To help prepare the wonderful donations that are received to ensure they are ready for sale, helping to raise much needed funds for the centre

 

Main Duties

 

·       To sort donations into type and check where appropriate that donations are of good quality, in working order, complete and clean.

 

·       Where needed, items are to be cleaned ready for sale using the appropriate cleaning method. A washing machine is available for clothing and other soft items.

 

·       To ensure that all items (Except clothing) is priced to keep it affordable for our community and raising a small amount of funds for the centre.

 

·       To store prepared items in readiness for sale.

 

·       To ensure our permanent sales corner in our Reception is stocked, tidy and appealing to our customers.

 

·       To maintain a positive and professional image of the organisation at all times.

 

·       Be aware of and adhere to Compass Disability Services’ policies and procedures at all times.

 

·       To remain aware of, and abide by, current legislation, organisation policy and the eight principles relating to Data Protection.

 

Person Specification

 

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or over.

 

A positive, enthusiastic and supportive character with the energy required to keep going!

 

An ability to motivate yourself and stay positive, to work independently and as an effective team member.

 

Well organised with a keen eye for detail

 

Terms of Engagement

Voluntary position

 

Volunteering Hours

1-2 hours per fortnight, any time between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday

This is a voluntary position.
