WATCH specialises in peer support across the whole of Somerset. By providing workshops and courses, people can come together and make valuable connections. People thrive when they can maintain their own wellbeing, build self-resilience, and develop skills. Supporting that recovery journey is what Watch is all about.
What is the role?
Main Tasks
- Plan and organise Board meetings, with others as appropriate
- Compile and circulate meeting agendas and any meeting papers, liaising with the Chair.
- Take minutes at meetings
- Circulate minutes to the trustees and any other relevant people following the meeting
- Maintain a list of agreed actions and communicate with trustees to ensure progress on actions is made
- Assist and support the Chair
- Deal with correspondence, writing letters/emails as agreed at Board meetings, summarising correspondence/emails received at the next committee meetings and drafting replies as appropriate.
- Make arrangements for any necessary reporting to be done.

- Previous Management/Board Experience

- Impartiality and the ability to respect confidences
- Willingness to speak /challenge
- An understanding of mental health issues whether personal history / family member or worked in mental health or caring profession.
Board meetings are online every 2 months. Approximate time commitment a few hours a month
