Are you passionate about helping people with mental health issues? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the role of Chair with WATCH.

Are you passionate about making a difference in your local community? we are seeking a Chair for our Board of Trustees.

WATCH specialises in peer support across the whole of Somerset. By providing a range of workshops, courses, visits to local farms as well as our in-person Thursday Project, people can come together and make valuable connections. People thrive when they can maintain their own wellbeing, build self-resilience, and develop skills. Supporting that recovery journey is what Watch is all about.

This is a fantastic opportunity to drive our mission of empowerment, social inclusion, and resilience-building. You'll be joining a passionate team.

Why join WATCH?

  • Make an Impact: Help reduce social isolation and support isolated adults that have hidden talents and skills.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work with a dedicated team and volunteers.
  • Community Focused: Engage with diverse groups to create lasting change.

About Us: Since 2010, WATCH has provided a safe space for adults to  build peer relationships. Our initiatives include workshops, support groups, and community projects that foster confidence and empowerment. Plus, we have recently become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which will enhance our ability to serve the community effectively. We're also growing our website, courses, and digital platforms to better support our members. Our goal is for 50% of our funding to come from donations within five years.

Your Role:

  • Lead and inspire the team
  • Oversee strategic development
  • Foster partnerships with like-minded organisations
  • Utilize your fundraising expertise to support our growth
  • Apply any other skills you might have to help the charity grow

Ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Apply now and help us transform lives in Chard and across Somerset.
