Detailed description

Remuneration:

This is a voluntary role

 

Location:

Face to face meetings take place at our main office in Bridgwater, however, can be attended online too

 

Commitment:

On average the commitment is expected to be no more than 1 day per month

 

Responsible to:

Chair of the Board of Trustees

We currently have vacancies on our board of trustees and in particularly would be keen to hear from those with experience in the following areas:

  • ‘Lived experience’ - current, or former service users, for example a parent of a disabled child
  • Provision of health (therapies), and/or social care for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Practising or recently practising qualified accountant (Treasurer role)
  • PR or communications and marketing
  • Retail – charity shops or commercial
  • Fundraising


The time commitment is approximately one day per month and meetings can be attended online or in person. A full induction will be available and ongoing support provided, as required.


It is an exciting time to be joining Brainwave, as throughout 2022 we will be celebrating our 40th year of providing ‘life-changing’ therapies for disabled children and their families. This could be anything from a child walking or feeding themselves, to counting or forming sentences.

About Brainwave Centre

Helping children with disabilities reach their potential through specialist Therapy Programmes, delivered by qualified therapists within a multi-disciplinary team.

Teaching the parents how to carry out the exercises daily, we empower families to participate in their child achieving their full potential.

With a Team of physiotherapist, speech and language therapists, learning development specialist and therapy assistant, families see a blended team bespoke to their child's needs.
