Black Swan Arts seeks Treasurer: someone with strong finance skills, and the ability to explain finance to non-finance people.
The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring that the financial affairs of Black Swan Arts are kept in order, and for ensuring that Trustees are provided with the appropriate financial information in order to make key decisions. They will be supported by a part-time book-keeper and a firm of accountants who produce the yearly accounts and provide specialist advice. The role involves:
Working with the book-keeper who enters income/costs onto the accounts package, and makes most payments. The Treasurer will need to take that information and turn it into basic accounts for trustees
Agreeing budgets for each year, and monitoring against those budgets.
Liasing with the company's accountants to make sure they have all the necessary information for year-end.
Assisting other trustees to make sure they have the right financial information for funding applications and for reporting against those applications.
Filing statutory information to the Charity Commission and similar.
