Reading coaches work with readers on a 1-1 basis, helping them to improve their reading skills. Full training and resources are provided.
Coaches meet with readers twice a week in public venues such as libraries, children's centres and cafes, and use resources provided to help readers improve their skills. Coaches are supported by a Coordinator who matches up the pairs and provides support.
Readers improve not only their reading skills but also gain in confidence and they can access new opportunities with their improved skills. Coaches have the satisfaction of knowing they are changing someone's life by improving their reading skills.
No previous teaching experience is needed as full training, resources and support is given.
