Are you passionate about Volunteering? We are looking for a reliable Volunteer Bookkeeper to join our team for a few hours per month.

Volunteer Opportunity: Bookkeeper

Location: Yeovil ShopMobility

Commitment: Flexible (approx a few hours per month)


Our fabulous long standing bookkeeper has now officially retired, so we are looking for someone to step in and help us continue to share our mission to help everyone lead an independant, happy life.


As a Volunteer Bookkeeper, you'll manage the financial records of our Charity, recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and payroll. You will play a key part in helping us maintain accurate financial records and ensure the smooth operation of our finances.


Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll or related fields.
  • Record and categorise financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate financial records in line with organisational policies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. we use PAYE)
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly

About Yeovil Shopmobility

Yeovil Shopmobility is a scheme providing powered scooters, as well as powered and manual wheelchairs to enable people with limited mobility to shop and use other pleasure/leisure facilities in Yeovil. We also have transportable equipment which will fit into the boot of a car for longer term hire.
Our aim is to enable people with mobility impairments to take increasing control of their own affairs and to pursue personal choice, to advance and improve their quality of life.
Anyone with limited mobility can use Shopmobility, whether through permanent or temporary disability, illness, accident or age. You do not have to be disabled to use the service.
