Volunteer Counsellor or Therapist
We are seeking volunteer counsellors and therapists (Qualified) to provide one to one counselling / therapy to adults affected by cancer or a life-threatening condition as part of the We Hear You team.
You’ll offer a minimum of two weekly counselling sessions and one weekly telephone assessment.
The skills you will need:
- A diploma / degree in counselling or psychotherapy.
- Good understanding of issues arising for people affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to deal with situations which could be upsetting or challenging.
- Good understanding of humanistic and integrative approaches to counselling are preferable.
