Could you be a food bank volunteer? This vital service provides food for our local community.
The Wincanton food bank operates out of the Quaker Barn in the high street on a Tuesday and Friday. We are always looking for volunteers to join the rota to take the pressure off the existing dedicated team. Responsibilities include unpacking deliveries, assisting customers with their shopping and being a friendly and welcoming face to anyone coming to visit.
This role would suit you if you enjoy meeting new people and are skilled at creating a non-judgmental, welcoming space for people who need it. Full training including food hygiene and manual handling will be provided. There are various roles within the team varying from stacking shelves to being customer facing, so please do get in touch if you'd like to know more and we will find something that suits you.
