Our charity shop team is looking for a volunteer driver to help with the distribution of goods to our shops around Somerset.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Delivery Driver Volunteer, you will:

  • Collect and deliver donated stock and other shop items between our charity shops, the warehouse and other agreed locations in Taunton and the surrounding area.
  • Provide a friendly and helpful service to shop staff and volunteers when making deliveries and collections.
  • Support the warehouse team with other appropriate tasks where required.
  • Ensure items are handled and transported safely and appropriately.
  • Report any issues or concerns relating to deliveries, stock or your vehicle to the appropriate member of staff.

What we need from you

  • As part of our safer recruitment process, you will be required to provide one form of identification.
  • A full, valid driving licence is essential, and you will be required to complete an annual driver’s declaration.
  • You must have appropriate insurance cover for using your vehicle for volunteering purposes and provide evidence of your current insurance certificate.
  • Your vehicle must have a valid MOT where required by law and you may be asked to provide evidence of this.
  • You will receive role-specific preparation training before starting, with periodic refresher training to ensure you remain up to date with organisational and legal requirements
  • You must follow relevant health and safety, vehicle and organisational procedures at all times.
