Summary

Enable Carers to access support, information and group chat.

Detailed description

Carers Groups give unpaid carers of friends and family, the opportunity to take a much needed break, socialise with other carers, share experiences, laugh, cry and find out how to access local information, resources, and other sources of support.

We need a volunteer to co-ordinate the group with support from Spark and other volunteers. Key roles include

  • Welcoming Carers as they arrive and leading the group in a way agreed by the carers, Spark and yourself.
  • Enabling Carers to access group peer support
  • Working with Spark support to organise speakers, information sharing and peer support
  • Undertaking a small amount of online training and face to face occasional meetings.
  • Making contact with your carers group participants between meetings, on occasion, if required.

The group runs from the Old Hospital Living Better Hub on the second Thursday of the month 10:00-12:00.
