We are increasing the number of Shed sessions that we operate each month, so we need additional volunteers to supervise these sessions

SLaMS is a small (currently <£25K annual turnover) charity, See our Annual Reports on The Charity Commission website for details of what we do.

As we begin to move forward with our plans to expand our facilities and activities in Bridgwater, reaching out to more people at risk of social isolation, we are now looking for additional volunteers to act as Session Supervisors. Our Sessions are normally 10:00 to 15:00, but volunteering for a part session, either morning or afternoon is possible.

The principal role is to act as "front of house" for new members and enquirers, and oversee the activities of members, ensuring that the shed operates as an inclusive, friendly and safe environment. Familiarity with a workshop environment and an awareness of basic health and safety is desirable, but more important is to be a welcoming and friendly face and an ability to get along with a diverse group of people. Induction and other training will be available to help you succeed in this volunteer role.
